Bateson and Glennon on trial

On a slow news day, I can report that two players that were released by Peter Taylor will be starting pre-season training with new clubs on Monday morning. Defender Jonathan Bateson has been given a trial at Accrington Stanley and goalkeeper Matt Glennon is training with Division 1 side Yeovil Town.
Talking of ex-City players I’ve just noticed that Gareth Edds (who was released by Tranmere Rovers in May) has returned home to Australia and signed for North Queensland Fury FC. Edds was signed by Nicky Law in July 2003 on a free transfer from Swindon Town but he left for MK Dons after just one season. I don’t think many City fans will have fond memories of the Aussie defender/midfielder!!! :)

Matt Glennon has been approached by BSP side Gateshead, but he may hold out for an offer from a league side.
