Jon McLaughlin has been talking about his chances of being City’s first choice keeper for next season, “I feel a lot more confident about being able to win that number one shirt. I hope I’ve done enough for the manager to want me in his plans. This is where I want to be. I don’t want to be moving on to other clubs or stepping down to non-league. I like to think I’ve proved I’m more than good enough to play at this level as a first-team goalkeeper.” McLaughlin added: “Last season it was made clear to me from the start that I was going to be the number two. You might not be happy with it but it’s fair enough when it’s stated to you from day one. But I think I’ve really progressed since then. Now my aim is to really try to put a good season together.”
I hope Taylor gives him the job as you can’t fault his record in the 8 games he’s played so far for the club. One thing is certain, we definitely need another keeper after Taylor released both Glennon and Convey.
Taylor confirmed on BBC Radio Leeds that Jonathan McLaughlin will start as the first choice keeper for next season and that he’s likely to bring in another young keeper as back up.
